ALPHA OMEGA DOGS
Heading our list of Alpha males is none other than the legendary VEGA. The sire of 45 puppies, Vega was truly a pillar within Alpha Omega Kennel. As a young male, Vega could jump a six foot fence with ease and climb an eight foot fence with little effort. Those who were fortunate enough to meet him will tell of his ability to exude strength, confidence, loyalty, and stability. During the fall of 2005, Vega was honorably excused from breeding duties, and allowed to retire to the Watson farm in Brandywine, MD. His remaining days were lived in a manner which most dogs could only dream of. For there were NO BOUNDARIES, only acre upon acre to roam and explore. Vega's feeder was constantly stoked with a high protein diet; He had access to a freshwater stream; And observing his growing collection of pelts, it was also apparent that he had tapped into his prey drive. Unfortunately, in this life, all good things must come to an end. Vega was fatally shot in December 2005. His reaper's identity was never revealed. All that is known is that he pushed himself beyond his limit, laying to rest, just within view of his home. His untimely but heroic death will remain a mystery, only adding to his mystique. His name and his story will live on. Vega, you will be missed by everyone who knew you. We thank you for everything and promise to extend your legacy.
Filling the void left by Vega seemed to be an insurmountable task. However, our friends at URBO Kennel offered continuous support throughout the dismal process. During the spring of 2006, Elite Chaos was adopted into Alpha Omega Kennel. Originating from Elite Guardian Kennel, Chaos' bloodline is greatly influenced by Barnacan Bull, Irema Curto, and Ordepaifos Kennels. Fluctuating between 140 to 150 lbs, Chaos is a large but vigorous animal. Although stubborn at times, Chaos quickly adapted to our family. He gets along well with the rambunctious neighborhood children as well as their equally boisterous dogs. He has proven to be a solid and reliable pet and breeder, producing pups whom embody the characteristics and traits desired by most Presa Canario enthusiasts.
A commander of attention and a demander of respect, Alpha Omega's Nande is everything we could ask for. Blessing us with her presence in the Spring of 2002, Nande has since then blossomed into a humanly dog. She observes our every action and mimics them to the best of her ability. Nande has learned to open gates and even doors. Her agility and stamina are top notch for a dog of her size. Nande has never been trained at bitework, but at a mere 110 lbs, we have witnessed Nande use her natural abilities to bring down a young bull. Apparently Nande felt threatened by the 800 lb bull, so to our dismay, Nande had seized and tackled the bull by the nape before we could diffuse the situation. One to never back down, Nande has displayed her strength and power countless times. On the same token, she has shown us that she is a gentle lady who enjoys the company of all. Nande is now retired and will be bred no more, so those who are fortunate enough to own one of her pups, please cherish them. Nande; we salute you and thank you for all of your time, service and loyalty.
Assertive, intelligent, fearless, tenacious. . . must we continue? Alpha Omega's Acacia is a true Perro de Presa. Alright; we didn't tell the complete story of how Nande brought down the bull. She actually had some help. Responding to her mother's drastic action and burst of emotion, Acacia sprung to Nande's aid with no regard for the danger which could have ensued. At 14 months of age, her prey drive was unquestionable. To disarm any concerns of animal cruelty, we ensure that this particular incident was completely spontaneous and even caught us by surprise. The bull in this story decided to proove himself to his herd by stomping his hoof and snorting at us. This was enough of a threat to cause our girls to risk their lives for us. The bulls' massive size and thick rawhide skin protected him from imminent danger. He was not seriously injured during the ordeal. Needless to say, he no longer showed any aggression toward anyone.
Sired by Elite Chaos; whelped by AO Acacia, Alpha Omega's Geisha has been floating under the radar until now. Geisha earned her name as a dainty and graceful puppy. Those days are now long gone. Geisha has developed into a powerful brute with a short fuse for nonsense. Depicted above @ 11 months, 90 lbs, Geisha is low-slung and muscular with strong hindquarters which are like that of a kangaroo. For a dog this large, her jumping ability is amazing. The future is bright for this young performance-quality dam.
Sired by Can Muc's Osiris and Alpha Omega's Isis; AO's Vida @ 9 months, 80 lbs. Vida is a teenybop amongst the Alpha Omega vets. She is a promising pup, whom has established a strong position on the AO team. Vida's vibrance has been a fountain of youth for the elders in the kennel, although they are quick to restrict it's flow when they've had enough. Sometimes her lessons are hard learned, but that's the life of an Alpha dog.
Babylon "The Great" aka Bachoy has finally returned! Having outgrown two different homes, Babylon was welcomed with open arms. Son of Vega, he's one of the most well rounded dogs we've experienced. Tipping the scale at 145 lbs, Babylon is a heavy dog with tremendous power and drive. He is however, a gentle giant whom enjoys the company of good, trustworthy people. Farm life will certainly whip this dog into the best shape of his life. Stay posted as we document his development .
Alpha Omega's "O" aka "ZO" is a dog of medium proportion, weighing in @ approx. 120 lbs. Whelped from Chaos x Acacia, Zo has the heart and wind of a champion. He recently sired his first litter, which turned out to be as lively and energetic as he. Zo seemed to inherit his mothers short, stocky frame, but with a father as large as Chaos, it will be interesting to see what he'll produce. Bred with a female of like size and proportion, it seems that his pups will still easily outgrow him. Zo will not be bred again until we have observed the growth development of his pups throughout 2009. So far the future looks promising for this young stud.
We recieve an abundance of inquries, seeking dog food and diet information. The most commonly asked question... "What do your dogs eat?" The answer... "almost everything!" Their dry food diet is regularly supplemented with beef, fish, poultry, venison, and vegetable. TIP: You'll save a tremendous sum of money by befriending your local deli's, meat markets, and restaraunts.
We have owned and handled many breeds in the past, and as far as we're concerned, this breed outshines the rest by far.
Chaos and sons.
We have also been fortunate enough to own and breed dogs that have displayed exceptional health, temperament, and mental stability. They have proven to be intelligent, loyal, and trustworthy. Their courage and willingness to please and protect their family, enables them to develop into excellent companions as well as effective guardians.
Menacing photo of Truth @ 16 months. Photo to the right depicts some of Truth's littermates; docile even under the tiniest of hands.
A good Presa Canario will enjoy playing with children, and even "properly introduced" strangers. They do, however, tend to be leery of anyone or any situation that may give off a bad vibe. They seem to feel your emotion and body language.
"Three Generations of Blood"; photo on the left depicts Vegas father @ a lean 138 lbs, while the photo on the right captures Vega teaching one of his sons how to be a good Presa.
Although this dog withholds all of the positive attributes mentioned above, if placed in the wrong hands, this dog can become a potential threat to society. With a bite pressure two to three times greater than that of a pit bull, this dog must be given attention and basic training at an early age. Our love and respect for this breed has allowed us to develop a philosophy that reflects on our pricing and potential buyer "screening."
Vega x Nande, 2003 litter snooping around @ 4weeks. Female pup @ 3 months, from Vega x Nande. "She found her home with a family in Nigeria."
Those who've experienced these dogs understand why the price is so high, but for those who have not.... we explain, quite simply; "Anyone can spend a hundred dollars on a dog. This is not just any dog. We do not want this dog to acquire the bad reputation that so many innocent pit bulls have. A high price not only keeps this dog at a higher status, but it also attracts a more serious and responsible buyer."

Now, please don't misunderstand! Money is not the issue! We would rather give a dog to the right person, than sell it to the wrong one. So far, we have done fairly well at judging potential buyers, and their motives. It is not uncommon for us to reduce our prices in order to properly place a dog.
A.O. Acacia of Serengeti @ 5 months.
Acacia @ 1 year, developing into a strong young Presa.
We encourage visitation, but there are times where this can be an inconvenience. In those cases, dog history, photos, pedigree, etc. will be exchanged via mail or email.
Amina, pictured above with older pups from Nande x Vega. Amina; approx. 4 months old below.
As with anything, the best way to learn is to diligently seek the truth. We encourage continuous research and questioning with as many breeders as possible. Don't be discouraged by rude and unfriendly breeders, as there are many. True enthusiasts will often take time out of their busy schedules to answer questions and educate buyers. Often, we are educated by you. Remember, we were all rookies at some point!
