Alpha Omega Puppy Guide Proper placement of pups is first priority. Therefore, prospective owners are carefully selected and reviewed. Reservations and arrangements can be made in advance. However, we do not accept deposits until pups have completed the necessary observation and approval process. Upon arrival, new owners can rest assured that their pup will have been approved by a licensed Vet, and regardless of classifiction, will carry an official health guarantee. d SHOW QUALITY - A show quality dog is one that we believe not only has the attributes necessary to better the breed as a sire or dam, but also has the potential to earn a title in the conformation show ring. This puppy will have few, if any, faults as described in the breed standards and will also have something extra that will distinguish him or her as a winner in the ring.Earning a title (ex. Champion) on a dog requires that an owner have the time and interest in participation in conformation competitions. Because the underlying purpose of conformation competitions is to identify the top dogs of the breed, they must remain intact (not spayed or neutered) until it is determined they have the quality sought for breeding. (All show quality dogs must be breed quality).
BREED QUALITY - A breed quality puppy should also be free of disqualifying or genetic faults, even if he or she is not showing in the conformation ring. At Alpha Omega Kennel, we identify breed quality dogs as those who will add something valuable to our lines, or to the lines of other breeders, such as desirable bone size or appropriate ear set. All breed quality dogs should be tested and certified free of genetic faults. PERFORMANCE QUALITY - A performance quality puppy is one who we believe has some unique ability to excel in a specific task such as bite work, or a sport such as agility or weight pull, or even to work as a service or therapy dog. As most Presa’s excel at many tasks, a performance quality dog might also be categorized as a show quality, breed quality, or pet quality dog. PET QUALITY - In some cases, there will be puppies in a litter which are sold under a spay/neuter contract as pet quality or companion dogs. The owner agrees to spay or neuter the puppy at the appropriate time, eliminating the possibility that the dog will ever be bred. Preventing un-wanted puppies in shelters and pet stores..There may be any of several reasons why we categorize a puppy as pet quality. The obvious reason is that the puppy displays one or more attributes that we do not feel would improve the breed if it were reproduced, defined as conformation faults in the breed standard. These faults in no way affect the puppy’s health or performance potential, but they probably would not do well in the show ring because of them.
